Sydney woman becomes biggest Oz Lotto winner ever with $100 million jackpot

A woman from Western Sydney says she can finally quit working “seven days a week,” buy her first home, and “take some holidays” after winning the full $100 million Oz Lotto jackpot.

The winning numbers in draw 1616 were 3, 34, 35, 26, 44, 39, 36, plus the supplementary numbers 5, 45, and 6.
It marked the largest Oz Lotto jackpot in over a decade, only topped by several Powerball results in recent times.

Largest single Oz Lotto win in history

According to lottery officials, the Elizabeth Hills resident is now the biggest individual prizewinner ever in an Oz Lotto draw.
When she received the call, she was shocked:
“Who is this? Why are you phoning so late?” she asked.
“What? Can you say that again? Oh my god. You’re not joking, are you? This can’t be real.”

She explained that she had been about to fall asleep after watching Married at First Sight and thought something serious had happened because of the repeated calls.

A dream of freedom and plans ahead

“I enjoy my job, but I won’t need to keep working seven days a week anymore. It’s amazing to think that I’ll have that freedom,” she said.
“I’ll finally be able to buy a house of my own. It feels unbelievable.
I’ll start indulging myself a little. I want to take some holidays.”

Record-breaking Oz Lotto turnout

Organisers predicted up to one-third of Australian adults would try their luck with a ticket.
“The last time Oz Lotto featured a jackpot this massive was back in November 2012, so it’s truly a moment not to miss,” The Lott spokesperson Khat McIntyre explained on Monday.
“It’s nearly impossible to describe what it feels like to tell someone they’ve just become a multimillionaire.”
